A Stocking Cap for the Less Refined Snow

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween out there.  Costumes are being finished.  Houses are taking on a goulish look.  And thoughts are turning to comfort food and yes, candy.

Now, as the days are getting shorter there's more and more time we are going to be out in the dark and cold.  Best to have a little something to help keep the noggin warm.  To help with this, I give you the Dirty Snow Stocking Cap.

No, the hat isn't crunchy and there's no gravel involved, but it will keep your ears warm and your fingers nimble.  The name actually came from the look of the yarn that I chose.  It's a natural white with flecks of black and brown in it.  One day while I was knitting up the cables I looked down and thought, wow, that kind of reminds me of the snow after the gravel has been laid down.  And there you go.
